ALIS Wales / Cymru 2012 Conference

ALIS Wales / Cymru 2012 Conference  -  27th November 2012 – booking now open

ALIS Wales will hold their conference this year at the Drwm, National Library of Wales, on Tuesday 27th November, 9.30am -3.15pm.

The theme of the conference will be: “Access all areas: Accessibility in Higher Education”. Speakers will include Disability Wales, Enable UK, CyMAL and ALIS Wales members currently working in providing accessible services to students in higher education.

To include lunch and a tour of the National Library of Wales.

Delegate fee: £35

Two sponsored places, worth up to £250 each, are available to those who have gained their professional qualification in the last two years, or who are working towards their professional qualification, to attend the ALIS Wales conference. These places have been sponsored by funding received via the Kathleen Cooks Fund, administered by CILIP Wales.

Applications should be forwarded by e-mail to Judith Agus, judith.agus@rwcmd.ac.uk, by 16th. November, stating why you would like to attend the conference. All applications will be considered by the ALIS Wales Conference Planning Committee, and successful applicants will be informed by
e-mail.”

A website to support students with disabilities is launched

QATRAIN for students is a EU funded website providing support for young people, including those with disabilities, in mainstream post 16 education. It includes information about specific disabilities and skills, a skills self check system and advice and guidance about disclosure.
